The General Electryk are a folk-alt-indie-rock band featuring singer/songwriter/guitarist Melanie McDonald and drummer/backing vocalist Angus Donnelly. Melanie's vocal style is an eclectic mix of blues-pop. Hooks are catchy, the backline is funk rock driven and the melody is contagiously sweet. With busking roots, this duo incorporates elements of creativity and fun using vintage luggage as drums. Like Dallas Green meets Natalie Merchant. Music for travelling folk. Glenn Cardier: Exiles From Eden | ![]() |
Exiles From Eden is the third album that Glenn Cardier released since his comeback album in 2002. This 2008 release is an absolute tour de force by the reclusive Australian singer-songwriter-guitarist. With Exiles From Eden, Glenn Cardier emphatically delivered on the 'promise'. "The most complete album of my career. This one seemed to take forever to make. Not in a bad way, but I wanted a fairly majestic production and it took time. Sometimes these collections seem like pieces from a soundtrack to a movie or something. They hang together." Glenn Cardier |

Ryan Giles: Ivanhoe Express | ![]() |
Ryan Giles is an independent Australian singer songwriter from South East Queensland. A small town kind of guy who was moved around a bit as a kid, always known as 'Gilesy' and never too far away from a guitar. Inspired by the sound of the troubadours of the early 70s, Ryan has recreated a genre of folk inspired pop music with a twist of country. Ryan's vocal style is one that draws you into his daydream like lyrics which may leave you with a smile on your face, deep in thought or even staring off into space. A smooth strumming guitar and a few crafty harmonica licks are just a few things to look forwards to on his next release. Four years after the release of his first E.P 'The Daily Harp', Ryan has completed his first full length album "Ivanhoe Express" which is to be launched in December 2010. |

This is my first recording & new songs since 1990 (yep last century). 26 years ago I locked my gear in the shed with no plans to ever involve myself in music again. My family had decided I was going beyond crazy and bought me a new guitar... so you can blame them or thank them for this EP. |
